Daddy and I walking into Reliant Stadium, Mom got some really great pictures from the game!! |
To begin my Christmas break, dad got us tickets to the Texans game where we got to see my favorite player, #99 JJ WATT! I even got to shake his hand when he was warming up! It definitely made for a great day, even though my favorite team lost :( We had such a great time as a family and were thankful for the tickets (they were given to us through one of my dad's friends) which happened to have a great view of the field!! The entire game was a blast and the environment was great even though we were stuck with a Vikings fan behind us... that was quite interesting.
So it seems like every year I spend a little bit more time with my best friend, Kimmie around Christmas time, and this year was absolutely no different. We went on the 23rd to the annual Christmas Eve service at Fellowship of the Woodlands or Woodlands Church, whichever you personally call it and saw some really cool stuff!

This was at the nativity scene we saw walking into the church so we decided it was a MUST to get a picture with the camel! |
We really enjoyed the wonderful service by Pastor Kerry Shook and his wife, as well as all the music that was played. The next day was my birthday! Whoo hoo! I was finally 17, although since my birthday is always on Christmas Eve, we normally don't do very much for it. I went to the Christmas Eve service with my family at our home church (Community Christian Church) and then to dinner with my family to celebrate! Normally we have tortellinis, but with how extremely busy we have been lately, that just didn't work out this year so Mexican Food it was! My parents, Telena, Jeff, and Julie definitely spoiled me on my birthday even though we were definitely missing Jeff, Julie and Harrison I enjoyed a lot of fun with my parents, Telena, Reese and Grayson!
Then, finally, it was Christmas morning! The Luker family was up super early to go feed the homeless which was definitely one of the biggest blessings I could have asked for this Christmas. The people in Houston were so thankful for the little that we had done. It was something I will never forget and something that I definitely would like to do again with my family. I have learned through this that sometimes all it takes to put a smile on the homeless population of Houston's faces happens to be a little respect and kindness.

To help the homeless, my parents put together bags of donated items, which were handed out on Christmas morning along with a cup of hot chocolate, hot sausage biscuit and warm blanket for the chilly weather we were facing this Christmas season (a rare thing in Texas!!)

All in all this Christmas was wonderful and so was New Years! I spent the 29th with my wonderful youth group at Six Flags in Arlington, Texas... man was it chilly up there, but the cold weather didn't stop us! I always have a blast with them, especially with my silly youth pastor, Tristan. The day was quite busy but tons of fun! On New Years Eve it was pouring down rain here, which caused my plans to go watch fireworks to get cancelled, although I didn't mind much. I spent New Years Day with my family since Daddy had the day off, which was a much needed one! Momma got all the Christmas decorations put away and we ate together as a family, which was awesome. Sadly my bulldogs lost their bowl game but that is alright! I ended my day spending some more time with my best friend for the night and watching movies! I still have a few more days to fill of break, so there will be more to come! :)
